Database Edit | |
An alternative to Excels data/Form? | |
EXCLUDED BECAUSE EXCAL ALREADY HAS ONE, AND THIS NEEDS FURTHER WORK Introduced in Version 1.31 Problem: When you set up a database, or a list of data rows in Excel, it often goes way off the screen to the right and becomes hard to edit. Sometimes it helps to freeze the leftmost column so you can see the first field of the row, but it becomes cumbersome. What Excel"s Form? does: Excels Form? command, on the Data menu, tries to work out what your column headings are, and it pops up a form then with all the fields for the current row. The only problem is that it really needs the column headings to be on the first row, and therefore sometimes it can"t find them. What BF Database Edit does: database Edit really searches for your column headers, wherever they be. It still works the same way, by providing a popup form for the row you are on, but its philosophy is that it should be anle to work out your column headers, so that your "database" (its not really a database but a list of records), can be anywhere in the worksheet. |
